A covalently cross-linked hyaluronic acid/bacterial cellulose composite hydrogel for potential biological applications
نویسندگان
چکیده
Bacterial cellulose (BC) is a good material candidate for wound dressing because of its fine 3-D network structure, high mechanical strength and water holding capability, biocompatibility. In this study, composite hydrogel was prepared by using 1,4-butanediol diglycidyl ether (BDDE) to cross-link BC hyaluronic acid (HA). Cross-linked BC/HA composites exhibited denser smoother surface. This dense morphology improved retention capability dimensional stability. BDDE cross-linked with 2% HA 1% showed better overall properties, including stability (12.7 % solubility), properties (tensile strength: ? 0.61 MPa Young’s modulus: ?1.62 MPa) thermal (maximum degradation temperature: 360 °C), as compared without crosslinking. addition, cell toxicity assays indicated the significantly promoted proliferation adhesion. chemically may have many new biomedical applications in care.

BACKGROUND This study was designed to evaluate the safety and efficacy of a novel, self-cross-linked hyaluronic acid (HA) hydrogel compared with carboxymethylcellulose (CMC) viscous foam in promoting healing when applied after ethmoidectomy. A prospective, randomized, controlled, blinded clinical trial was performed. The study was performed by four surgeons operating in two community hospitals....

In the field of tissue engineering, there is a need for advancement beyond conventional scaffolds and preformed hydrogels. Injectable hydrogels have gained wider admiration among researchers as they can be used in minimally invasive surgical procedures. Injectable gels completely fill the defect area and have good permeability and hence are promising biomaterials. The technique can be effective...
متن کاملCovalently Cross-Linked Arabinoxylans Films for Debaryomyces hansenii Entrapment.
In the present study, wheat water extractable arabinoxylans (WEAX) were isolated and characterized, and their capability to form covalently cross-linked films in presence of Debaryomyces hansenii was evaluated. WEAX presented an arabinose to xylose ratio of 0.60, a ferulic acid and diferulic acid content of 2.1 and 0.04 µg∙mg(-1) WEAX, respectively and a Fourier Transform Infra-Red (FT-IR) spec...

This chapter discusses two protocols that are used throughout the remaining chapters. These protocols and experimental data comprise the early preliminary work of this dissertation. The first protocol is the synthesis of photocrosslinkable glycidyl methacrylate modified hyaluronic acid (GMHA). This derivative was synthesized by the reaction of glycidyl methacrylate with HA in a solvent mixture ...
